Idea and Emergence of the card
For many people a handmade card is something special that makes them happy. It always means that someone took their time to make something just for you. The process of creating something yourself can be a beautiful and relaxing process so it's a win win for everyone.

Especially in times like these (speaking of social distancing) a special handmade card with kind words can bring joy and hope to others and help to feel less alone. Particulary people in nursing homes may need some kindness, because the visiting hours are very restricted or visiting isn't possible at all, their families may live far away or maybe they don't have any family left. Also, don't forget the essential workers and what they do for us on a daily basis - I'm very thankful for that.
Therefore I had the idea to create and send many cards myself and take them to local facilites. Unfortunately I have much work to do for university and all my other commitments and not much time for a big project like that and it would just affect my neighborhood.
So I thought: How can I achieve that many people in many places have the opportunity to create handmade cards that don't cost them any (or much) money. I thought everyone has paper and colored pencils (not everybody has a printer - I know, but many have). And you don't even need postage if you put it into the facilities' mailboxes directly.

After having this idea stuck in my mind, I knew I wanted to draw a card that everybody can color in themselves and that would have the charm of a handmade card.
Next question: what image should it be? For special brithdays, weddings or other events I draw "desk-cards" that show their personality (hobbies, favourites like colors, food, music, Photos of them etc.). They are very special and personalized and I needed to do something more universal for everyone. The idea: everything you can do during lockdown / quarantine / social distancing like reading, lestening to podcasts, trying new recipies, doing sports or Yoga, meditating, saving money etc.
Because I didn't want to risk any copyright issues, I didn't use any brands or different pictures. Since I wanted the card to be usable by everyone I didn't add any text and left the banner empty. In this way everybody can write the message they want in the language they want.
I even tried to draw the humans in a way you can personalize the hairstyles and gender.

After the idea emerged, I drew the card pretty quickly. Everything after that took time (I was failing at layouting and a fellow student helped me after I was struggling so long). Then I had to make the website and everything else. In fact I had asked some people to promote the project before I even got the layout right.

Now I hope that this works out and many people take part in this project. In some countries the situation is getting worse each day, in others it looks like it''s getting better - Corona isn't over and many people who are at risk still have to be cautious. I hope this project brings much kindness and hope in this chaotic world.
If you made it to this point, thank you for reading through all of it :)
